§ 114.036 DEFINITION.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   BILLBOARD or SIGNBOARD or SIGN. All outdoor structures of whatever material constructed which are erected, maintained and used for the public display of posters, painted signs, pictures or pictorial or reading matter; except that, such terms shall not include signs erected or maintained on roofs or signs attached to or painted upon the walls of buildings. The term SIGN shall include all advertising structures, having a face similar to a billboard or signboard, but which are erected and maintained on the roofs, or attached to the walls of buildings. The terms BILLBOARD, SIGNBOARD or SIGN shall not be held to include any board, sign or surface used to display official notices, issued by any court of public office or officer, or to include any board or sign having an area of less than 25 square feet.
