§ 8.54 SCHOOL ZONES.
   (1)   The City Engineer or designee is hereby authorized to determine and designate by proper signage school zones around public and non-public schools for all roadways under the city's jurisdiction.
   (2)   The speed limit for school zones on city streets shall be 20 miles per hour during the days and times displayed on signage, electronic beacons, or other traffic control devices that are in conformance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
   (3)   School zones on county roadways for public and non-public schools within the city may be established with permission from the county.
   (4)   The speed limit for school zones on county roadways shall be as provided by M.S. § 169.14, Subd. 5a and established with permission from the county during days and times displayed on signage, electronic beacons, or other traffic control devices that are in conformance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
   (5)   The location and boundaries of school zones in the city, and the days and hours they shall be in effect, shall be reflected in an official school zone map. The school zone map will be established and kept on file in the office of the City Engineer and shall be available for inspection by the public during normal business hours.
