10-6-2: AMENDMENTS TO CODE:
Additions, insertions, changes and deletions to sections of the international mechanical code are hereby revised as follows:
Subsection [A]101.1 Title (page 1-1, Name of Jurisdiction, insert in second line).
   Insert: The village of Bloomingdale.
Subsection [A]103.1 Creation of agency (page 1-2, Name of Department, insert in first line).
   Insert: The building and zoning department shall be charged with the enforcement of the mechanical code, and the building commissioner shall be known as the code official.
Subsection [A]106.4.3 Permit Expiration (page 1-5, delete subsection and insert).
   Delete: Entire subsection.
   Insert: Permit expiration shall be governed by title 10, chapter 1 of the village code.
Subsection [A]106.4.4 Permit Extensions (page 1-5, delete subsection and insert).
   Delete: Entire subsection.
   Insert: Permit extensions shall be governed by title 10, chapter 1 of the village code.
New Subsection [A]106.6 Mechanical Contractor Requirements (page 1-5, add subsection).
   Add: All mechanical work requires a village permit subject to the requirements of the village permit regulations and schedule of fees and bonds ordinance and shall be performed by a licensed mechanical contractor. A photocopy of the mechanical contractor's license and certificate of insurance must be submitted to the building commissioner prior to permit issuance. Any mechanical work, for which a permit is required, performed on village of Bloomingdale property or right-of-way requires that the village of Bloomingdale be listed as an additional insured on the certificate of insurance and that the mechanical contractor submit an executed permittee indemnity signature page with the permit application. Prior to the issuance of a mechanical permit, a bond in the minimum amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), except where work to be performed exceeds the minimum bond amount the bond shall be for the actual cost of work to be performed, shall be executed by a surety company authorized to transact business in the state of Illinois as surety on the bond with the applicant as principal on the bond, and the village of Bloomingdale as obligee, for its benefit, and at the discretion of the village of Bloomingdale, that of consumers dealing with the applicant, conditioned that the applicant shall faithfully perform the duties without damage to surrounding private or public properties and in all things comply with village of Bloomingdale codes and ordinances pertaining to the applied for permit. The bond shall remain until the issuance of final inspection approval and/or final certificate of occupancy.
Subsection [A]109.2 Schedule of permit fees (page 1-6, insert fourth line).
   Insert: The fee schedule shall be governed by section 10-1-2-1 (Building And Zoning Department Plan Review And Inspection Permit Schedule Of Fees), of the village code.
Subsection [A]109.6 Refunds (page 1-7, delete entire subsection).
   Delete: Entire subsection.
Section 114 Means of Appeal (page 1-8, delete entire appeals section and insert).
   Delete: Entire section.
   Insert: Any person shall have the right to appeal a decision of the code official to the planning and zoning commission. Means of appeal shall follow requirements set forth in section 11-3-7 of the village code, Appeals.
Subsection [A]115.4 Violation Penalties (page 1-8, delete entire subsection).
   Delete: Entire subsection.
Subsection 301.10 Electrical (page 3-1, third line delete "NFPA 70" and insert).
   Delete: NFPA 70.
   Insert: Title 10, chapter 4 of the village code.
Subsection 301.11 Plumbing Connections (page 3-2, fourth line delete "International Plumbing Code" and insert).
   Delete: International plumbing code.
   Insert: Title 10, chapter 5 of the village code.
Subsection 506.1 Commercial Kitchen Hood Ventilation System Ducts and Exhaust Equipment (page 5-12, add to end of first sentence third line).
   Add: ...shall comply with the requirements of this section (add) except current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 96 standard for ventilation control and fire protection of commercial cooking operations regulations shall be applicable where this standard is more stringent than this code for all installations.
Subsection 506.3.2.1 Duct joint types (page 5-12, delete "butt joints" first line)
   Delete: "butt joints" from first line.
Subsection 507.1 Commercial Kitchen Hoods (page 5-17, add to end of first sentence second line).
   Add: ...shall comply with the requirements of this section (add) except current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 96 standard for ventilation control and fire protection of commercial cooking operations regulations shall be applicable where this standard is more stringent than this code for all installations.
Subsection 508.1 Commercial Kitchen Makeup Air (page 5-20, add to end of paragraph after end of twelfth line, new sentence).
   Add: The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 96 standard for ventilation control and fire protection of commercial cooking operations regulations shall be applicable where this standard is more stringent than this code for all installations.
