7-4-12: EQUIPMENT:
   A.   Lights And Reflectors: Every bicycle, when operated at nighttime, shall be equipped with a lamp on the front which shall emit a white light, visible at a distance of at least five hundred feet (500') to the front, and with a red reflector on the rear which shall be visible in the beams of headlights on motor vehicles at all distances from fifty feet (50') to three hundred feet (300'). A lamp emitting a red light which is visible from a distance of five hundred feet (500') may be used in addition to the red reflector.
   B.   Signal Device: No person shall operate a bicycle unless it is equipped with a bell or other device capable of giving a signal audible for a distance of at least one hundred feet (100'); except, that no bicycle shall be equipped with, nor shall any person use upon a bicycle, any horn or whistle.
   C.   Brake: Every bicycle shall be equipped with a brake which will enable the operator to make the braked wheel skid on dry, level, clean pavement. (Ord. 76-49, 7-26-1976)
