A. Purpose: The purpose of this section is to protect the public health, safety, general welfare and best interests of the residents of the village by provisions designed:
1. To increase safety and lessen congestion on public streets;
2. To meet the need for loading and parking facilities generated by the development of land and the associated increase of automobile and truck usage;
3. To minimize the on street parking of vehicles;
4. To require adequate protection for contiguous property against undesirable effects from the creation and operation of parking areas and adjacent public streets; and
5. To protect and preserve the appearance and character of business parks within the village through the elimination of on street parking of motor vehicles.
B. Prohibited Parking Streets Designated: No parking of vehicles, including trailers (whether idling; standing; queued for loading, unloading or delivery; attended; unattended; occupied; unoccupied; with the engine operating or not operating) is allowed at any time on any day on any of the public streets located within a business park, identified as follows:
Brighton Drive.
Camden Drive.
Covington Drive.
Fox Court.
Madsen Drive.
Scott Drive.
C. Temporary Parking Permits: The village reserves the right, through the police department, to issue temporary parking permits, upon request, to allow limited on street parking for special events or occasions for a duration not to exceed eight (8) hours.
D. Violations; Vehicle Impoundment And Tow: A vehicle violating this section shall be subject to immediate impoundment and towing at the direction of the village police department. (Ord. 2002-07, 2-25-2002)
E. Penalties:
1. Any person violating the terms and conditions of this section shall be punishable as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
2. The penalty shall be assessed against the owner or operator of the vehicle. (Ord. 2002-07, 2-25-2002; amd. 2012 Code)
