8-13-17: DISPOSITION OF PROPERTY TO SATISFY LIEN:
The city shall retain such aircraft and other property situated therein upon which the city has a lien as mentioned in section 8-13-16 of this chapter, for a period of thirty (30) days, at the expiration of which time, if such lien shall not be fully satisfied, the city may proceed to sell such aircraft or other property, or any part thereof, at a public auction after posting notice of sale as provided by law upon execution, and by mailing notice at least ten (10) days prior to the sale, by certified or registered mail, of the time and place of such sale to the owner of such aircraft at his last known address. The proceeds of sale shall be applied first to the costs of sale and attorney fees, and then to the discharge of the lien. The remainder, if any, must be paid to the owner. (2003 Code § 8-10-17)
