(A) It shall be unlawful for any person not authorized by the town to tamper with alter or injure any valve on street mains or curb cocks, or any cut-offs or fixtures or attachments used in connection with the waterworks system of the town. All cut-offs and cut-ons are to be performed by town employees.
(B) Pursuant to G.S. § 14-4, any person found guilty of violating § 50.01 shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and fined $500.
