(A) No person shall cruelly treat any animal in any way; any person who inhumanely beats, underfeeds, overloads, abandons, or mistreats any animal in any way shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this section punishable as provided below.
(B) Pursuant to G.S. § 14-4, any person found guilty of violating § 90.01 shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor and fined $500.
