§ 90.04 IMPOUNDMENT OF UNLAWFUL ANIMALS.
   (A)   The Porter County Animal Control Officer or any police officer of the town shall have the right to capture and impound any animal in violation of this chapter. Notice of impoundment shall be given immediately to the owner if known and if the owner can be found.
   (B)   As part of the process of removing a vicious or dangerous animal from town, any pet that bites or inflicts injury upon a human being shall be confined and observed for a period of time established by procedures of the Porter County Animal Control.
   (C)   While any animal is being held by the Porter County Animal Control Officer or by any police officer of the town, the owner thereof may redeem it upon presenting proof of current and valid ownership, immunization and animal license tag papers necessary under the laws of the state. However, if the animal has been transferred to the custody of the Porter Animal Control pursuant to any contract, then the conditions of release of the animal shall be established by the rules established by that agency.
