"Patrol/night watch service" shall mean the activity of going from building to building, or from property to property, along or on the public streets, alleys, or other public ways adjacent to such buildings or properties, at more or less regular intervals during the day or at night, for the purpose of watching the properties or buildings to protect any interest of the owner or occupant.
