The provisions of this article establish standards and procedures that encourage the development of housing that is affordable to a range of households with varying income levels and prohibit approval of projects that fail to comply with its requirements. The purpose of this article is to encourage the development and availability of affordable housing by ensuring that the addition of affordable housing units is in proportion with the overall increase in new housing units.
