A. Appointment; Vacancy: Appointments shall be for a three (3) year period commencing July 1. Appointments shall be made, as near as possible, to stagger the terms. Appointments made to fill a vacancy shall be for the balance of the term.
B. Resignation: A board member shall be deemed to resign the appointment upon any of the following:
1. Moving personal residence outside of Bettendorf when appointed to a Bettendorf resident position.
2. Four (4) consecutive absences from regular board meetings, unless excused by illness or temporary absence from the city. A board member who has missed four (4) regular meetings may make a request to the board to remain a member. Upon approval by two-thirds (2/3) majority of the full board, the absences will be excused and the member allowed to continue. (2008 Code § 15-3)
