2-5-1: APPOINTMENT; COMPOSITION; TERMS:

1. There is hereby created a human rights commission, which shall consist of seven (7) members, appointed by the mayor, with the advice and consent of the council.

2. Appointments shall take into consideration the various racial, religious, cultural and social groups in the city.

B. Terms: Two (2) of the initial appointees shall serve until January 1, 2005, three (3) shall serve until January 1, 2006, and two (2) shall serve until January 1, 2007. Subsequent appointees shall serve for a term of three (3) years and thereafter or until a successor has been appointed.

C. Vacancies: Vacancies shall be filled for the remainder of the unexpired term. (2008 Code § 8-12)
