A. Creation; Appointment: There is hereby created a board known as the mechanical board of appeals, which shall consist of five (5) members appointed by the mayor, subject to the majority consent of the council. (2008 Code §§ 16.5-9, 16.5-10)
B. Function: The board shall determine the suitability of alternate materials and methods of construction and shall provide reasonable interpretations of the mechanical code.
C. Mechanical Inspector: The mechanical inspector shall be an ex officio member of the board and shall act as secretary to said board. (2008 Code § 16.5-9)
