It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation, directly or indirectly, through employees, agents or subcontractors to store, cast, deposit, strew, scatter or lay or cause or allow to be stored, cast, laid, deposited, strewn or scattered, any shavings, ashes, mud, garbage, dung, rubbish, dirt, earth, stone, crushed rock, gravel, cement, plaster, cement or lime mixtures, coal, wood, glass, metal, snow, ice, leaves or other debris, filth or refuse matter on any of the streets, lanes, alleys or other public property in the city, without having obtained prior approval in writing for such from the department of public works. Each day that any of the above substances are allowed to remain on public property shall constitute a separate offense. (2008 Code § 27-30)
