5-2-5: CHAIN OF COMMAND:
The fire chief shall have command of the department. After the fire chief, the officers next in command shall be a career captain and then the career lieutenants. In the absence of these fire officers, the next officer in rank, whom the chief shall designate, shall assume command of the department. (2008 Code § 11-33; amd. 2015 Code)
