A. Appointment; Discharge: The Chief of the Police Department shall be appointed by the City Administrator. The Police Chief shall be removed from his or her position as Police Chief in accordance with section 1-10-3 of this Code, and subject to the consent of a two-thirds (2/3) vote of the Council. B. Duties: The Chief shall serve as the Sergeant at Arms at Council meetings, and is charged with the preservation of order at those meetings. (2008 Code § 24-5)
