6-1-331: PEDESTRIANS SOLICITING RIDES OR BUSINESS:
   A.   No person shall stand in a roadway for the purpose of soliciting a ride from the driver of any private vehicle, or for the purpose of soliciting employment, business, or contributions from the occupant of any vehicle.
   B.   Nothing in this section or this chapter shall be construed so as to prevent any pedestrian from standing on that portion of the highway or roadway, not ordinarily used for vehicular traffic, for the purpose of soliciting a ride from the driver of any vehicle. (2008 Code § 17-331)
