For the purpose of this chapter, the following definition shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
GARAGE. Any building or other place in the city where automobiles or similarly self-propelled vehicles are kept or let for hire or reward to any person, whether the vehicles are hired out or let, with or without operators for the same, or where the vehicles are kept ready for use and rent is paid to the keeper thereof for keeping. GARAGE does not include a garage used for housing the vehicles of the owner thereof which are not used or let for hire or reward, or a garage where not more than one vehicle is kept for hire or reward.
