(a) Each and every elevator cab shall have an emergency light to provide adequate light within the elevator when the primary power fails.
(b) Any building which shall install elevators shall have at least one elevator cab with a minimum size of clear floor space of seven feet by five feet. Except as otherwise may be provided in the Ohio Basic Building Code, elevator door openings and hall widths shall be large enough to accept Fire Division stretchers (80 inches in length, 24 inches in width) in the open horizontal position. All elevator plans are to be approved by the Chief of the Fire Division prior to installation.
