240.04   TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT OF PART-TIME PATROL OFFICERS; BENEFITS.
   Effective January 1, 1997, part-time patrol officers shall be employed in accordance with the following provisions:
   (a)   Pay Periods:   Every two weeks.
   (b)   Work Schedule:   As assigned by the Chief of Police under the direction of the Mayor. The total number of hours worked each week by all part-time patrol officers shall not exceed 36 hours.
   (c)   Clothing Allowance:   The clothing allowance of part-time patrol officers shall be determined from time to time by ordinance adopted by Council.
   (d)   Miscellaneous Benefits:
      (1)   Liability insurance. The Village shall furnish and pay for police professional liability insurance. The Council shall determine the coverage and the plan.
      (2)   Workers' Compensation. The Village shall furnish and pay for Workers' Compensation insurance.
   (e)   Advancement:   To be determined by the Mayor with the consent of Council on the basis of merit longevity. All police personnel shall have an annual review during December.
