240.01 COMPOSITION.

The Police Department shall consist of the Marshal, who is designated as the Chief of Police and who shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of Council, and such deputy marshals, policemen and special policemen as may from time to time be appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by Council.
