8-2-2: DEPOSIT REQUIRED, USE OF:
   A.   Requirement: No permit shall be issued for the construction of any building or structure, or for any other work in the Village, which will necessitate or entail the driving of vehicles or equipment over any parkway or sidewalk within the Village, or which will necessitate or entail any excavation in or tunneling or boring in or under any street, sidewalk, alley or public way in the Village unless there is first deposited with the Village the sum of five hundred dollars ($500.00) for any work under parkway, including the sidewalk, and one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) for any work in or under a street, alley or public way, in cash or certified check payable to the Village, which deposit shall be retained by the Village to insure that any damage to Village property in connection with the work will be properly corrected.
   B.   Return Of Deposit: Upon the completion of all such work and restoration, the Director of Public Works shall make a final inspection of the completed work. The Village shall retain two hundred dollars ($200.00) of the original deposit for a period of thirty (30) days following the completion of such work to insure the quality of the work done.
If, after the expiration of the thirty (30) days, the Director of Public Works shall find that the work has been completed in a satisfactory manner and all restoration has been completed, the Village shall return to the depositor the balance of the deposit after first deducting the sum of ten dollars ($10.00) to cover inspections required hereunder, and any part of such deposit which was used to defray the cost of the work done by the Village in accordance with the terms thereof.    C.   Use Of Deposit: Each deposit as herein required shall be accompanied by an agreement by the depositor that such deposit may be used in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter. (1976 Code § 6.04)
