147.05 DUTIES AND COMPENSATION OF CHIEF.
     (a)   (1)   The duties and job responsibilities of the Belpre Fire Chief shall be those set out in a position description developed and maintained by the Safety- Service Director. The Fire Chief’s position shall be a full-time salaried job.
      (2)   The starting annual compensation for the Fire Chief is set at thirty-two thousand dollars ($32,000) plus benefits as established by Ohio law and the City’s Personnel Policy Manual. This salary shall be adjusted annually on January 1 of each year by a percentage equal to the average of annual wage increases provided in the City’s labor contracts with Union employees, except that the first year’s increase shall be proportional to the number of days worked during calendar year 2009.

   (b)   The Assistant Chief shall perform the duties of the Chief in the absence of the Chief, and he shall be charged with plans and training for the Department.
