All golf carts are required to be registered and inspected by the Belpre Police Department or its “designee” in accordance with Ohio Administrative Code (OAC) 4501:2-1-01 through 4501:2-1-21 before driving on City of Belpre Streets.
(a) Appointments for inspections must be scheduled in advance by contacting the Belpre Police Department.
(b) Owner of the golf cart must show proof of ownership, via vehicle title or bill of sale, at time of inspection.
(c) Owner must have proof of liability insurance.
(d) A valid inspection sticker must be displayed on the golf cart. All golf carts must be inspected annually. Annual fee for inspection fee is forty dollars ($40.00), check or money order payable to the City of Belpre. The annual inspection fee may be modified at any time by the Belpre Chief of Police and Belpre Safety Service Director.
(e) Failure to register or display inspection sticker will result in a one hundred dollar ($100.00) fine plus court costs. (Ord. 14(2020-21). Passed 6-28-21.)
(f) Registered golf carts may be seized and impounded for violation of these rules and regulations.
(1) Any unregistered golf cart operated on the Belpre City streets and highways may be seized and impounded at any time.
(2) Any golf cart seized and impounded under these provisions is subject to all rules and regulations in effect for other impounded vehicles at the Belpre City Impound Lot.

(g) No inspection sticker may be transferred by the permit holder for any other golf cart owned by the permit holder.
(h) Any new golf cart purchased by a permit holder must be inspected and a new permit issued before that golf cart may be operated on the public streets of the City of Belpre.
(i) No permit holder may transfer a permit to a non-permit holder. Violation of this provision will result in the revocation of the permit.
(j) Any golf cart purchased by a non-permit holder must be reinspected and a new permitted issued.
