Any installation of gas appliances and gas piping shall be made in accordance with:
(a) The provisions contained elsewhere in this chapter.
(b) The provisions of the American National Standard Institute Code Z 223.1-1974, which is adopted herein by reference.
(c) The following specific provisions:
(1) Any gas service line or house line shall enter a building above ground. The distance between wall and meter shall be no less than six inches.
(2) In every case where a gas service line or house line enters a building through a wall a sleeve must be used.
(d) The inspection of gas appliances and gas piping may be made by the City's plumbing inspector. Such inspection, if made, shall be for the sole purpose of ascertaining compliance with this chapter, and such inspection or approval shall not constitute a guarantee of safety or indemnification of the utility company furnishing the gas service.
