§ 8-142 RETIRED BUILDING CONTRACTOR’S LICENSE.
   (A)   A licensed building contractor who wishes to fully retire from the building trade may apply to the building official for a retired building contractor’s license. Upon such application and payment of renewal fees ordinarily applicable to a building contractor’s license, the building official may grant such person a retired building contractor’s license. The holder of a retired building contractor’s license shall not engage in any construction activities for which a building contractor’s license is required under this Code.
   (B)   The insurance requirements of section 8-137 shall not be required as prerequisites for the issuance, maintenance or renewal of the retired building contractor’s license.
   (C)   The holder of a retired building contractor’s license may make application to the building official for a reactivation of his or her status as a building contractor. The building official may activate such license upon compliance with all the following:
      (1)   Payment of the required fees applicable to the renewal of the license.
      (2)   The filing of a current certificate of insurance under the provisions of this article.
