Prior to receiving a license under the preceding section, an applicant who has successfully passed the building contractor examination or has complied with the provisions outlined in section 8-134, shall furnish a certificate of insurance which provides combined coverage of bodily injury and property damage in a minimum amount of $300,000.00, and shall strictly comply with this code and any other ordinances of the city relating to the construction, alteration, or repair or any building system within the jurisdiction of the city.
