§ 112.16 LICENSE REQUIRED.
No person, either as owner, agent or otherwise, shall furnish, operate, conduct, maintain, advertise or otherwise be engaged in, or hold himself or herself out to be engaged in the operation of an ambulance unless he or she holds a valid license under this subchapter. In the case of a major catastrophe in which the number of licensed ambulances in the locality of the catastrophe are insufficient to render required services, vehicles operated by other persons, with licensed EMTs/PHRNs/MDs on board, may be used to render transport service. No vehicle shall bear ambulance identification with insignias and flashing lights or warning signal devices unless it is operated by a licensed ambulance service as provided herein.
