(A) For the purpose of this section, the following definition applies unless the context clearly requires a different meaning.
FIREWORKS. Shall have the same meaning as in state law, 68 O.S. § 1622.
(C) (1) Pyrotechnic or fireworks displays may be authorized in accordance with the City Fire Code when under proper control and the time, place and manner of the display is permitted by the city. Organizations shall contact the city for permission for a display.
(2) Any public display shall be inspected and approved by the Fire Chief or, in his or her absence, the Assistant Fire Chief. Notification shall be given to the Fire Chief not less than seven days prior to any public fireworks display.
(D) The discharging or use of fireworks is permitted from July 1 through July 3 between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m., midnight, except:
(1) No fireworks may be discharged or used on any city streets or business parking lots within 100 feet of any public building of assembly, within 100 feet of any business or within one 100 feet of any fireworks stand; and
(2) Fireworks may only be discharged on privately-owned, leased or rented property, and only during the hours specified in this section.
(E) A parent is responsible for all actions of his or her children under the age of 18 regarding fireworks. Parents may be cited for any violations of this section committed by their children under the age of 18.
