§ 150.026 POWERS OF INSPECTION OFFICIALS.
   (A)   Authority. Inspectors are hereby authorized, empowered and directed to enforce all the provisions of this chapter and other regulatory codes adopted.
   (B)   Right of entry. Inspectors shall have the right of entry on any premises within the jurisdiction of the regulatory codes herein between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding legal holidays, for the purpose of inspection or enforcement of the requirements of this ordinance and the regulatory codes, upon presentation of proper credentials.
   (C)   In accordance with G.S. § 160D-1113, inspectors shall make as many inspections thereof as may be necessary to satisfy them that the work is being done according to the provisions of any applicable State and local laws and of the terms of the permit.
   (D)   Stop orders. Whenever any building or structure or part thereof is being demolished, constructed, reconstructed, altered or repaired in a hazardous manner, or in violation of any provisions of this chapter or any other town ordinance, or in violation of any provision of any regulatory code adopted by the town, or in violation of the terms of the permit or permits issued therefor, or in such manner as to endanger life or property, the appropriate inspector may order the specific part of the work which is in violation or presents such a hazard to be stopped immediately. The order shall be in writing to the owner of the property or to his or her agent, or to the person doing the work, and shall state the reasons therefor and the conditions under which the work may be resumed. Stop orders may be appealed in accordance with the provisions of G.S. § 160D-1114.
