§ 95.20 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   AUTOMATIC SMOKE DETECTOR DEVICE (120-VOLT PLUG-IN). A self-acting approved device powered by 120 volts, cord and plug connected, operating by its own mechanism when actuated by smoke. NOTE: May be used in residential dwelling units constructed prior to January 1, 1975.
   AUTOMATIC SMOKE DETECTOR DEVICE (BATTERY POWERED). A self-acting approved battery powered device, operating by its own mechanism when actuated by smoke. Note: May be used in residential dwelling units constructed prior to January 1, 1975.
   AUTOMATIC SMOKE DETECTOR OUTLET (120 VOLT). A self-acting approved outlet (non-plug-in) powered by 120 volts operating by its own mechanism when actuated by smoke. Note: Required in all residential dwelling units constructed after January 1, 1975, as per NEC 210-71, a state amendment to the State Electrical Code.
   CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM. A device sensing invisible particles of carbon monoxide which, when activated, will provide some form of visual or audible alarm, and which has been either UL (Underwriters Laboratories, Inc.) listed or CSA (Canadian Standards Association) approved.
   OTHER CONSTRUCTION RELATED WORDS. Certain abbreviations, terms, phrases, words and their derivatives shall be construed as set forth in the definitions sections of the State Building Codes and Town of Beech Mountain Zoning Ordinance.
   OTHER WORDING. All other wording shall be defined as per a Webster's Collegiate dictionary.
   RENTAL RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNIT. A structure with one or more dwelling units that is used for rental property.
   RESIDENTIAL DWELLING UNIT. Single-family dwellings, two-family dwellings, apartment houses, condominiums and/or town houses.
