(A) No residential property shall be sold or traded in the city unless and until the seller installs smoke detectors in accordance with § 94.090.
(B) Such inspections shall be ordered by the property owner or their representative and be scheduled with the Beech Grove Fire Department.
(C) Upon inspection the Beech Grove Fire Department shall inspect each dwelling unit and each required smoke detector for proper placement and operation prior to issuance of the certification paperwork.
(D) Should the dwelling unit not have smoke detectors properly located within or such smoke detectors are found not to be installed or not working properly, the certification paperwork shall not be issued.
(E) Any and all paperwork including certification slips shall be kept on file by the Injury Prevention Chief.
(F) There shall be no fee charged to provide this service.
