Upon the establishment of a Board of Parks and Recreation, the terms of the members initially appointed shall be one, two, three, and four years. The Mayor shall make his or her initial appointments within 90 days of the adoption of this chapter. Thereafter as a term expires, each new appointment shall be made by the Mayor for a four-year term. All terms shall expire on the first Monday of January, but an appointee shall continue in office until his or her successor is appointed. All reappointments to the Board shall be made by the Mayor by the first Monday in April of each year or the incumbent shall continue to serve another four-year term. If a vacancy on the Board occurs, the Mayor shall appoint a member for the unexpired term.
