SECTION 12.01.02. REFERRED TO COMMITTEE.

The Clerk of Council shall within twenty (20) days from the date of filing of such petition, determine the sufficiency of the petition and if found sufficient, the Council shall at the next regular meeting have the proposed ordinance or resolution read and referred to an appropriate committee which may be a committee of the whole.

The Committee shall report its recommendations on the proposed ordinance or resolution to the Council not later than forty-five (45) days following the date on which the proposed ordinance or resolution was submitted to the Council by the Clerk of Council.
