2-113: CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER APPOINTMENT, DUTIES:
   A.   An Employee and or Police Officer employed by the Town of Beaver may be assigned and authorized as a Code Enforcement Officer to enforce all current codes and ordinances and all future, and or amendments to codes and ordinances which have the purpose in protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the citizens and the general public of the Town of Beaver, Oklahoma.
   B.   The Code Enforcement Officers shall enforce all codes, ordinances as set forth in each code, ordinance and or as set forth by Oklahoma State Law.
   C.   The Code Enforcement Officer shall have the authority to cite violators and or by Abatement of violations and to appear in court if necessary to testify. The Code Enforcement Officer shall not have the authority to arrest and or detain any person or persons suspected of code or ordinance violation unless the officer is an employed Police Officer acting in the line of his sworn duty as a Police Officer.
   D.   The appointed Code Enforcement Officer shall complete certification, training as a Code Enforcement Officer within 1-year of appointment as per Oklahoma State Statutes, administered by the Oklahoma Code Enforcement Association.
   E.   Nothing in this section shall prohibit the Town of Beaver from pursuing the corrections of violations either by abatements, fines, and or by civil remedies in court any current, future or any newly adopted codes. (Ord. 2021-01, 8-6-2021)
