13-301: POLICE DEPARTMENT CREATED; CHIEF:

There shall be a police department, the head of which is the chief of police, or the police chief, appointed by the town board of trustees and removable by the town board. The police chief is an officer of the town and has supervision and control of the police department. All police officers are officers of the town. (1998 Code)
