Any change of ownership of a franchised non-emergency ambulance service without prior written approval of the County Department of Emergency Services shall terminate the existing franchise immediately. A new application and fee of $1,200 shall be required of a franchise service under new ownership. The words CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP under this section shall mean and include a successor company by merger, change of name, bankruptcy resulting in the appointment of a trustee, or dissolution of the entity.
