15.24.070: SIGN MAINTENANCE:
   A.   Maintenance Requirements: The permittee for any sign or other sign structure shall, at least every two (2) years, paint all of the parts and supports thereof, unless the same are galvanized or otherwise treated to prevent rust or rotting or unless waived by the village zoning administrator. Any cracked, broken, worn, or similarly deteriorated elements of the sign shall be repaired and refurbished at least every two (2) years.
   B.   Alterations: Alterations (see definition of "sign alteration" in section 15.24.020 of this chapter) shall require the issuance of a permit by the village of Beach Park as provided by this chapter.
   C.   Unsafe Signs: If the zoning administrator shall find that any sign is unsafe or insecure, or is a menace to the public, then the zoning administrator shall give written notice to the person to whom the sign permit has been issued and to the owner of the property or the owner's agent. If they fail to remove or alter the sign so as to comply with the standards herein set forth within ten (10) days after receiving such notice, such sign will be removed or altered to comply, by the zoning administrator, at the expense of the sign permittee or owner of the property upon which it is located. The zoning administrator may cause any sign that is an immediate danger to persons or property to be removed summarily or without notice. The zoning administrator shall be responsible for inspecting the condition of the signs and for investigating the complaints issued regarding signs. (Ord. 2015-O-21)
