(a) Pursuant to authority granted by MCL 211.28(4) and Charter § 8.3, the City has hereby established a City Board of Review for all purposes set out in the General Property Tax Act, Act 206 of 1893, as amended, (“the Act”) including but not limited to annually reviewing the City Assessment Roll and hearing objections to property assessments.
(b) Under the authority of subsection (4) of Section 28 of the Act, MCL 211.28(4), the City Commission hereby establishes the size, composition, and manner of appointment to the Battle Creek Board of Review by this ordinance, in place of the charter provision, and allowing the appointment of alternate members.
