(a) A redevelopment corporation may, whether before or after the certificates of approval of its development plan required by this chapter have been issued, acquire real property or secure options in its own name or in the name of nominees to acquire real property, by gift, grant, lease, purchase or otherwise.
(b) The City shall, if provisions therefor are contained in the development plan approved by ordinance, proceed to acquire the real property specified in the development plan under its powers of condemnation, as set forth in subsections (2) and (3), Section 17 and 17(a), of Act 250 of the Public Acts of 1941, as amended.
