a. All trenches in a public street or other public place, except by special permission, shall be backfilled in accordance with regulations adopted pursuant to this chapter. Any settlement shall be corrected within four hours after notification to do so.

b. A person who violates this section is responsible for a Class E Municipal civil infraction and shall be subject to the civil fines provided in Section 202.98.
