Section 13.6. First City Commission.
For the purpose of electing the first City Commission, this Charter shall go into effect January 1, 1961, and the first election shall take place April 3, 1961, at which the qualifications and procedures herein contained shall apply, except as hereafter mentioned. Any current City Commissioner may be a candidate at said election. Those two persons holding positions on the current City Commission whose terms do not expire until 1962 shall be deemed members of the City Commission under this Charter until such expiration date. Therefor, at said first election, five Commissioners shall be elected at large and each elector may vote for up to five candidates; those persons receiving the three highest numbers of votes shall be elected for two year terms; and those receiving the next two highest numbers of votes shall be elected for one year terms.
