The City Commission may determine whether any officer or employee of the City shall give a bond, and the amount thereof, which bond shall be procured from a surety company authorized to do business under the laws of the State of Michigan. The City Commission may require additional bonds during periods of special risk. Premiums on all such bonds shall be paid by the City, or such agency as may be benefited thereby.
