A. Illinois residents who are issued traffic tickets which do not require a mandatory court appearance, may be released after signing the ticket indicating that "I promise to comply with the terms of this citation". In the event that the arresting officer has probable cause to believe that the driver will not comply, the appropriate bond may be required before the driver is released.
B. Illinois residents who are issued traffic tickets for offenses which do mandate a court appearance will be required to post a bond in one of the following manners:
Post a valid Illinois driver's license.
Post a valid and acceptable bond card.
Post the appropriate cash bond.
C. Effective July 1, 1984, the aforementioned bonding procedures will be extended to residents of all nonresident compact states, as follows:
