4-5-5: DEFINITION OF SOLID WASTE AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR CONTAINERS:
   A.   Placement: All solid waste for collection and disposal must be placed in covered cans, approved bags or containers, at the street curb, of any household premises, readily accessible.
   B.   Definition: The term "solid waste" shall include, but not be limited to, all household and kitchen wastes, such as discarded food or food residues and paper necessarily used for wrapping same, tin cans, bottles, books, paper, newspapers, boxes, cartons and glass. "Yard waste" as defined in subsection F of this section shall not be mixed in with solid waste. All solid waste shall be in a suitable container of tightly covered metal or other noncorrodible material, watertight, not to exceed thirty two (32) gallon capacity each and a total weight when filled up to fifty (50) pounds each.
   C.   Durability: The solid waste containers shall be durable in all types of weather.
   D.   Condemned Containers: Any containers that cannot any longer be classified as "durable" may be condemned by the contractor and disposed of by the contractor without any liability for such disposal.
   E.   Remodeling Waste: Home remodeling and repair construction materials will be accepted for pick up provided such items are placed in suitable containers as previously stated or necessary bundles tied together not exceeding four feet (4') in length and not weighing over fifty (50) pounds per container or bundle.
   F.   Yard Waste Collection: "Yard waste", defined as sod, earth, grass, lawn clippings and leaves, will be collected separately from solid waste and a total weight when filled up to fifty (50) pounds each. Such materials will only be collected if they are placed in a suitable container marked "yard waste" and displaying the city yard waste sticker or special paper collection bag identified by the city logo made available to the general public by the city contract through local retail outlets.
