2-2-4: COMMISSION REGULATIONS:

The board of fire and police commissioners shall make such rules and make such appointments and removals except those herein reserved to the mayor and city council; and the board of fire and police commissioners shall have such other and further powers as prescribed in the Illinois Compiled Statutes or as may hereafter be prescribed by the legislature of the state of Illinois by legislative enactment . (1972 Code § 34.115)
