(A) The definition of "commercial vehicle" found in 625 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/1-107 shall be deleted for purposes of this Title.
(B) In addition to the definitions found in chapter 1 of the Illinois Vehicle Code, adopted by reference pursuant to Section 9-1-1 of this Chapter, whenever in this Title the following words and phrases are used, they shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them in this Section:
COMMERCIAL VEHICLE: Any vehicle operated for the transportation of persons or property in the furtherance of any commercial or industrial enterprise or other nonpersonal use, for hire, not including commuter van, a vehicle used in a ride-sharing arrangement, or a recreational vehicle not being used commercially.
MANUAL ON UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES: The Illinois Department of Transportation document of specifications regarding all official signs, markers, buttons, and other indicators; may be referred to as "the Manual".
OPERATOR: Every person who operates or is in actual physical control of a vehicle.
PUBLIC UTILITY, EMERGENCY REPAIR: Actions taken immediately in response to the imminent or actual cessation of service.
PUBLIC WAY: Any sidewalk, roadway, alley or other public thoroughfare open to the use of the public, as a matter of right, for purposes of travel.
SUPERVISION: A disposition of conditional and revocable release without probationary supervision, but under such conditions and reporting requirements as are imposed by the court, at the successful conclusion of which disposition the defendant is discharged and a judgment dismissing the charges is entered.
THROUGH TRAFFIC: A vehicle taking a route over any road or highway, or portion thereof, under the maintenance jurisdiction of the Village, as listed in subsection 9-2-6-2(D), without trip origination or destination within the Village or to or from a location whose only means of ingress and egress is along said road or highway.
