ADOPTING ORDINANCE
ORDINANCE NO. 90-25
AN ORDINANCE READOPTING THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE VILLAGE OF BARRINGTON HILLS PURSUANT TO THE VILLAGE'S HOME RULE AUTHORITY
WHEREAS, at a referendum held in connection with the general election of November 6, 1990, the voters of the Village of Barrington Hills elected to become a Home Rule municipality in accordance with the terms and conditions of Article VII, Section 6 of the 1970 Illinois Constitution; and
WHEREAS, the Village President and Board of Trustees deem it to be in the best interest of the Village to readopt the Municipal Code of the Village (the "Village Code") so as to ensure that all of the ordinances contained therein are properly authorized by either the Village's Home Rule power or the Village's statutory power.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Barrington Hills, Cook, Kane, Lake, McHenry Counties, Illinois, as follows:
Section One: That the Village Code consisting of Titles 1 through 10 inclusive, as prepared by Sterling Codifiers, Inc., under the direction of the Board of Trustees subsequent to the adoption of Village Ordinance of 78-1, be and it hereby is readopted pursuant to the Village's authority as a Home Rule municipality as and shall constitute the Village Code of the Village of Barrington Hills, Illinois.
Section Two: That all ordinances or parts thereof in conflict herewith are, to the extent of such conflict, hereby repealed; provided, that said repealer shall not affect any offense committed against such former ordinance, as set forth in Section 1–2–3 of the Village Code.
Section Three: This Ordinance and the Village Code readopted hereby pursuant to the authority of the Village as a Home Rule municipality shall be in full force and effect from and after ten (10) days following its passage and approval according to law, as printed and published in book form by order of the President and Board of Trustees.
