1-6-7: VILLAGE ENGINEER:
   (A)   Creation Of Office, Appointment, Eligibility, Term: There is hereby created the office of village engineer. The president, by and with the approval of the board of trustees, shall appoint a village engineer. No person shall be appointed as village engineer unless such person is registered under the provisions of "the Illinois professional engineering act", 225 Illinois Compiled Statutes 325/1 et seq., as is amended from time to time. The village engineer shall hold office at the pleasure of the corporate authorities. (Ord. 83-6, 8-22-1983)
   (B)   Assistants: He shall, with the approval of the corporate authorities, appoint and remove such assistants as he may require and prescribe their duties.
   (C)   Salary: The salary and compensation of the village engineer and of each of his assistants shall be fixed from time to time by the corporate authorities. (Ord. 60-8, 7-25-1960)
   (D)   Duties: The village engineer and each assistant shall perform such duties as shall be prescribed by the corporate authorities from time to time, including, however, but not limited to, the design, supervision and maintenance of all public streets, roads, bridges, culverts, storm sewers, drains and all other structures pertaining thereto within the corporate limits and responsibility of the village, and performance of the duties imposed upon him by specific reference in this code 1 .    (E)   Other Duties: In addition to the duties provided above, the village engineer shall administer and enforce the floodplain ordinance set forth in title 4, chapter 5 of this code. (Ord. 07-03, 1-22-2007)
